Welcome to the SEAS Lent Mini-Course

SEAS Lent Mini-Course

Bishop Robert Barron will be presenting a mini-course at SEAS this Lent! Well, almost.

Fr. Lombardo and our parish administrator, Fr. John Arnold, are providing our parish community an opportunity to reflect on Lent and Faith using a series of of online videos brought to you through our parishes new subscription to Engage - an online service by Bishop Robert Barron.

The first video in this series introduces us to the theme of this course - "What will happen when people die."

We look forward to this opportunity to grow, share and learn with you during Lent. Our DRE, Mr. Zach Ferell, has assembled a group to assist in answering questions throughout Lent.

Simply click on the "Reply" button at the bottom of this email to contact this group with questions. We also appreciate your feedback and thoughts about this effort.

We hope you enjoy this series and the other videos made available to you through your online parish subscription to Engage.

God bless,
Deacon Richard Kiser

Everyone - believer and non-believer alike - wonders and worries at some point about what will happen when we die.
Bishop Robert Barron

Lent 2018 - Video #1

Questions:
Can science define all reality? What are some example of reality that science can’t define? How do the doctrines of heaven and hell appeal to our sense of justice?

After watching, PLEASE ADD A COMMENT sharing your thoughts, or ask any questions you have! We'd love to answer them!

Father John Arnold named Parish Administrator

My name is Fr. John Arnold and I am the pastor at St. Mark the Evangelist Parish in Oro Valley. I have been a priest for almost 20 years and am a native of Tucson. My brother built some of the cabinets in your parish church and contributed to its construction. When I worked as an attorney here in Tucson, I occasionally attended mass at your parish with my brother’s family back when Msgr. Tom Millane was your pastor. I have a great love for your parish.

As you know, your pastor Fr. Lombardo, is retiring from parish ministry. At the request of the bishop, I have been appointed to a four-month term as your parish administrator starting March 1 and ending the last day of June. The purpose of this announcement is to keep you in the loop.

A parish administrator overseas parish operations, but does not have the same role as a pastor. The parish and school staff have a top-notch reputation in our diocese and I look forward to working with them and learning. The process for appointing your new pastor is in the beginning stages and I know that we have some excellent candidates in our diocese who would love to work with the young and vibrant community at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. I look forward to serving your parish.

May God bless you all Fr. John Arnold

Bishop Weisenburger's letter announcing Father Lombardo's retirement and Fr. Arnold's appointment is attached.
