Minister of the Word, also known as Lector, volunteers 
share in a sacred process in the life of the Church. 

At Mass, the Lector serves as a bridge between the Scriptures and the faithful.  In undertaking this sacred ministry, a commitment is made to preparation and discipline that enables Scriptures to become a living Word to the assembly.
